Enterprising Charter Students Find a Way
Cherokee Charter Academy offers a Cambridge Advanced Program of Studies for grades 6, 7 & 8. The program is sponsored by Cambridge University in England.
Students in Cherokee Charter Academy’s first middle school graduating class want to celebrate their academic achievement – so they’re working hard to raise funds for an official commencement ceremony & formal dance.
First, they staged a family “Photos with Bunnies” event at the school to coincide with the Easter holiday.
Next up, 8th graders and their schoolmates and families scrubbed cars & trucks to collect some cash.

At last count, 11-hundred dollars had been raised.
The graduation festivities are planned for May 16th at the Cherokee County Conference Center in Canton.

Many of the 47 middle school graduates are expected to return to Cherokee Charter in the fall as the school establishes its first high school class. CCA (currently K-8) will have a ninth grade in 2013-2014 and eventually expand to K-12.
