Downtown Kitchen

Each week Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby worth checking out. Here’s this week’s choice:

Overview: Downtown Kitchen is an upscale but casual restaurant in historic downtown Canton. It has a full bar and an extensive menu featuring an assortment of steaks and seafood. The restaurant is small but inviting. The décor is modern, and the room is bustling on the weekends.

Drinks: There is a standard beer and cocktail list as well as an extensive wine list for purchases by the glass or bottle. Wines range from $7 to $14 for a glass and $22 to $65 for bottles. On tap are Bud Light, Newcastle, SweetWater and Blue Moon.

Appetizers: There’s a variety of appetizers that will be a great start to a wonderful meal. The $9 calamari is served with a sweet chili sauce. Downtown Kitchen also has $8 spinach-and-artichoke dip, $9 bacon-wrapped shrimp and $6 sweet potato chips.

Entrees: Entrees range from salads topped with chicken, salmon and even steak to only the highest-quality Angus beef, fresh seafood dishes and pastas. One of  the restaurant's specialties is an andouille-crusted pork tenderloin. Entrees come with a choice of two sides. You can add a salad for $3.

Service: Wait time for a table can be long if you don’t call ahead. During your wait, you can sit at the bar and socialize. Once seated, service is quick and pleasant. Prices range from $13 to $45 for entrees.
