Cagle's, Kroger, Autumn Hill Offer Real Trees

The farm in the heart of Hickory Flat always comes through on seasonal decorations and holiday festivities.

I only remember throwing one full-blown hissy fit in my life. It was the first Christmas my parents didn't buy a real Christmas tree from the Lacey's Spring Christmas Tree Farm in Alabama. It was a heck-of-a hissy fit, too. There were tears and pouting and refusing to help decorate.

I was also 18. I didn't say this was one of my shining moments.

Now that I'm older, I realize that the fake trees are easier. They're cleaner and less likely to catch fire. I hate that I got one this year, but then again, how am I going to get a tree in a Civic and then up two flights of stairs alone? Sometimes you have to be practical.
