Bites Nearby: Izumi Asian Bistro

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

-- Looking for a nice, casual atmosphere? Then head over to Izumi Asian Bistro in Woodstock. Service is quick and it isn't too crowded. The friendly staff greets customers right away. The restaurant has a great assortment of sushi, including options as low as $1. It also has hibachi, Thai and saki menus as well as bento boxes for lunch. Izumi recently got its liquor license and offers drink specials during the week. Reasonably priced, you can get a meal with soup or salad for around $10. (I tried the spicy basil fried rice with chicken. It was very good, although not very spicy.) There are three televisions on the wall for viewing sports and such. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. It even has a nice patio where customers can enjoy dinner outside, once the weather gets warm. 2035 Towne Lake Pkwy. (11 miles from Canton) 678-238-1899.
