The Source for Source4 Members

A local gym just closed its doors without any notice. Here's what to do if you had signed a contract there.

Despite rumors it was going to happen, Source4 Fitness members were still shocked and disappointed to receive an email Sunday night stating their gym would no longer be open for business as of Monday. As if the late notice email is not enough, after pulling into a desolate parking lot, warning signs are posted on the doors to the gym.   One sign encourages members to check their credit cards and bank accounts to “be sure no further billing occurs.”  Another sign gives instructions for filing a complaint with the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection against Source4 Fitness.

Some members had been there for years.  Some members had just joined.  Fortunately for some, like Nikki Kenney, they are not really out much money. Instead of paying her membership in advance to obtain a better price, she chose to pay on a month-to-month basis because she “had a bad feeling.”  Unfortunately for others, they are short a lot more than that.  Mark, of GNC in Hickory Flat, just renewed his contract in November of 2010.  He paid $300 up front for a promised contract period of 18 months.

With no advance notice, this has left many people disgruntled and frustrated as they begin their search for a new, and more reliable, source for fitness.  Hopefully, you are not like me, and have already begun the search for a new facility that will help you attain your health and fitness goals. If you are like me, it took great effort to get the motivation to join the gym to start with.  Now, time is of the essence before you lose that motivation. Either way, the following is a summary of local and nearby fitness facilities that are ready and willing to aid you in becoming a healthier you.
