The Braves Take the Championship

This Macedonia Dizzy Dean baseball team made up of 5- and 6-year-olds ended the season on top.

Holly Springs Patch has a new feature that will highlight kids in the area. We know there are so many wonderful kids out there, and we want to show them off. If you have an organization, team, club or group of kids you would like Patch to highlight, please let us know. Simply click on "email the author."

As Macedonia Baseball comes to a close, this group of 5- and 6-year-olds won big. They had to beat the first-place team and the second-place team to claim the title of champs this week. This team is, as quoted by a mom of one of the players, "just that awesome." This was a great close to the season for one family in particular.

Jane Knauff, who is responsible for Macedonia Baseball being everything that it is today, is stepping down after six years of volunteering. Her countless hours of volunteering made the park what it is today, and every family who has played baseball in the organization is thankful to her. Jane's youngest son, Cooper, is on this team. At her son's last game of the season, of the last year she is on the board, she got to see her son receive a first-place trophy. Jane will, of course, still be around in the years ahead as her husband, Kirk, volunteers as a coach for their youngest son's team. This was a great way for the Braves to end their season.
