Severe Storms To Move into Holly Springs Thursday

High winds, lightning and a chance of an isolated tornado are expected to move into the area Thursday afternoon.

Holly Springs and Hickory Flat residents will be greeted with a chance of severe storms in the midst of rush hour traffic on Thursday.

Heavy rains, high winds and a chance of tornadoes will move into Cherokee County and northern Georgia Thursday afternoon, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service.

"A cold front will approach the state on Thursday (and) then move across the state Thursday night," NWS states. "Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of the front, and confidence continues to increase that isolated severe storms will accompany this frontal system."
