'Project Valentine' Collects Candies for Seniors

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency is asking the public to donate items that would be placed in goodie bags and delivered to local seniors.

The Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency wants to make sure the county's older residents will feel loved on Valentine's Day.

The agency is now collecting items for its Project Valentine. The agency is calling on the public to donate small tubes or bottles of hypoallergenic lotion, tubes of Vaseline, or plain lip balm, Valentine knick-knacks, sugar-free and regular candy, and packs of cracker through Friday, Feb. 7.

The items will be placed in goody bags and will be delivered to the Canton Nursing Center and the Brian Center.
