New Coupon Policy for Kroger, Deals at Walmart, Target

Kroger announced a new coupon policy that pushes the better deals over to Walmart and Target this week.

I am sad to report that has a new coupon policy. I did not want to believe it and contacted Kroger personally for it to be confirmed. They will no longer accept paper coupons along with coupons loaded on your Kroger card for the same item.

Kroger wrote, in their email to me, "Digital coupons will not combine with the use of any other coupon, will not double, and are accepted at face value only." This alone, changes the deals we get at Kroger.

The new policy also states "The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the quantity of coupons or items used or purchased in a single transaction, by a single customer, or in a single day."

Further, it says "Only two (2) internet coupons per manufacturer, per product, per visit, per day are accepted."

Another hard one to swallow for coupon users is that the new policy states "We do not accept coupons for more than about 75 percent of a product's value without advance notice."

With these new restricting changes at Kroger along with the new more liberal coupon policy at Walmart that you can read on their website, I think there will be a lot of local competition for Kroger.

That said, there are still some good deals at Kroger this week.

If you transfer your prescriptions to Kroger this week, you can get $25 in free groceries.

On April 1, you can get a free bag of sample sized Frito Lay chips between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Get $5 off of your total grocery bill when you purchase $25 worth of specific brands of baby items. These brands include Pampers, Luvs, Similac, Pediasure and Beech Nut. Items are marked in the store and since all baby related items are in one aisle, this will be an easy sale to participate in.  If you are a new parent or soon to be new parent, be sure to sign up for all of the programs at your doctor's office and hospital. Going to specific brand websites and signing up on their mailing list will also be beneficial. They will send you a lot of coupons and products for a few years once signing up. Combining coupons with sales is always your best way to get deals.  The following are coupons to use with this sale.
