Great Savings All Over Hickory Flat This Week

Kroger, CVS, Walgreens and Target all have some good deals this week.

There are sales and good buys at several stores this week, so be sure to read all the way down and don't miss out on the free items.

The sale I wrote about Thursday does not end until this coming Wednesday. I found a great deal to be true. Bailey’s nonalcoholic coffee creamer is on sale for $1.50. Right in front of the creamer is a coupon machine for $1 off one bottle. This makes coffee creamer 50 cents. The dates are good until April, so if they are still in stock of the flavor you like, grab it now.

sales started Sunday and go until Saturday. Their regular sale did not impress me much. They are, however, having a three-day sale later this week that has some good deals. Here are a few items and dinner suggestions that I noticed are on sale at Kroger this week.

Eggs and ham are on sale, so I thought I would make a quiche for dinner. The eggs are on sale for $1.77, and the shank-bone-in portion ham is 99 cents a pound. Because the quiche does not take a lot of meat to prepare, you could serve the ham for dinner one night and use the leftover portions to make the quiche. If you prefer not to have the ham twice in one week, this is a great dish to freeze.

Pork spare ribs are $2.29 a pound at Kroger. Buy about 3 pounds of these ribs and put them in your crock pot with a jar of barbecue sauce and turn it on low  for eight to 10 hours. This will be a delicious meat, and it does not get much easier to fix. I am serving this with the mac and cheese that was on sale last week and with the broccoli on sale at Kroger this week for $1.28. (Read on if you missed out on the mac-and-cheese deal; you can get it at Target this week.)

The mahi and crab are still on sale for $3.99. This is a good price, and because these are frozen already, they are easy to keep in your freezer for a future meal that sneaks up on you without planning.

Starting Wednesday and ending Saturday, Kroger will be having a short Valentine’s Day sale. The best deals I saw are on meat and soda.

Beef tenderloin is $6.99 a pound. Live lobsters are $7.99 a pound. Either of them would make a wonderful main course for your special Valentine’s Day dinner.

Shoppers will also be able to score a good deal on Pepsi six-packs of bottles. These are limited at four per purchase and will only be $2.48 each.

If you are looking for some free or almost free items while you are shopping in Hickory Flat and Holly Springs, head on over to .

Trident gum is on sale for 99 cents. You will get a 99-cent Extra Care Buck for 99 cents off your next purchase at CVS. This by itself makes it free. Use your coupon for $1 off three from the Jan. 3 newspaper, and you will actually make money off the deal.

Several Revlon items are on sale for $7.99. Customers will receive Extra Care Bucks in the amount of  $4. There were several coupons in the Jan. 16 newspaper that will then drive the price of these makeup items to $1.99 each.

The new sale at also has some free and almost free items.

Veripur hand sanitizer is free when you purchase it for $3.99 and then get $3.99 back in Register Rewards to use on a later purchase.

Colgate toothpaste is on sale two for $5. You will get Register Rewards back in the amount of $3. There is a printable coupon at Colgate.com, and there was one in the Jan. 30 newspaper to make this toothpaste free.

Target has some good deals this week as well.

Kraft Home-Style Mac n Cheese is on sale here if you missed it at Publix last week. It is $2.49. Print a coupon from Target.com and use the manufacturer coupon from the Jan. 16 newspaper and the final cost is 74 cents.

Kraft cheese is on sale for $2.04. Combine this with the printable couypon at Target and the one in the Jan. 23 newspaper, and you can buy cheese for as little as 70 cents.

A non-grocery-item good deal is at Target. Customers can purchase the Wii Just Dance and Kids Just Dance for $39.99 for both. Sold separately, these can be bought at Amazon for $39.99 and $19.99. This is a good deal if you are in the market for some dancing fun.

Special thanks to iheartkroger for the sale preview, refundcents for the coupon storage and hip2save for the Target coupon heads-up.
