Girl Scouts Help Tsunami Victims

Troops from area came to the Hickory Flat to make paper cranes for the kids of Japan.

Girl Scouts gathered at the Thursday and Friday to make paper cranes and pack backpacks for relief efforts in Japan.

OshKosh B'gosh, through their Cranes for Kids program, has pledged to donate one item of clothing for every paper crane they receive, up to 50,000. At last count, they had already met the 50,000 mark just from people who posted photos of cranes on their Facebook page. The Girl Scouts were making additional cranes and helping OshKosh B'gosh count the cranes they were sent.

The girls also packaged relief kits for the kids in Japan.
