Experts Will Dissect Affordable Care Act in Cherokee

The forum set for Tuesday in Canton will provide residents with everything they need to know about the new health care law.

If you're confused about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Tuesday night will be your chance for you to ask questions and get answers.

The North Georgia ACA Forum A to Z will be held in Canton tomorrow and will feature panelists in the fields of education, health care and business who will discuss everything about the sweeping legislation. The nonpartisan event is sponsored by the Cherokee County Democratic Party.

Two sessions will be held on Tuesday to give residents the chance to attend: between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center on Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

Panelists include: 

  • Dr. Henry Kahn, emeritus professor, Emory University School of Medicine
  • Dr. Harry Heiman, director of health policy, The Satcher Health Leadership Institute at the Morehouse School of Medicine
  • Mary Dintelmann, program coordinator, UGA Health Navigator, Dawson  Ext.
  • Stephen Bailey, MPA, program coordinator, UGA Health Navigator, Statewide
  • Tim Sweeney, director of health policy, Georgia Budget & Public Policy
  • John Haslinger, vice president of advisory services at ADP
  • Joshua Robinson, president, Health Students Taking Action Together (HSTAT)
While the event is free, registration is required, and can be done so on the forum's website.
