Cherokee Animal Shelter Offers Adoption Deal For Older Dogs

During the month of February, dogs five years and older will be $50 to adopt.

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter on Friday started an adoption special geared towards its older dogs.

The county agency started its "Mid-life = Half Price" adoptions, which stipulates that any dog five years or older will be only $50 to adopt in February.

All adoptions includes pay/neuter, microchip, initial vaccinations, initial flea/tick treatment, heart worm tests and a free office visit at a local participating veterinarian.

Shelter staff added the program is mainly for their dogs since they only have one cat that fits the current criteria.

If they receive more cats that are five years and older, they will also be offered up for adoption at the half-price.

The agency normally charges a $100 fee for adoptions.

Adoptions will be held during the shelter's normal business hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The shelter is located at 1015 Univeter Road, Canton, GA 30115.
