A Good Week to Skip the Grocery

Easter candy and a few other items around the Holly Springs area stand out in the sale ads and online research.

The deals are not as amazing as in previous weeks, but they are randomly out there. I personally would not make special trips to any of the stores just to get in on the bargains. The cost of gas right now will outweigh any of the savings you will get unless you were going to the store already.

Easter candy seems to be on sale everywhere, and based on previous holidays, I would suggest getting the candy while it is on sale and plentiful. You do not want to be out hunting treats down just before Easter and wind up having to pay full price as well.

Starting at , here are the best buys for the week ahead. Remember that paper coupons double. If you have a loaded e-coupon on your card, you will no longer be permitted to use it along with a paper coupon.

I did not see many amazing deals this week at . I went researching online, and others seem to agree. This is a good week to use some of what you have already bought on sale in previous weeks if Kroger is your first-choice store.  If you prefer Publix, its sale runs until Wednesday. Read for the best deals this week.

  • Ken’s Salad Dressing is three for $5 at Kroger. Use the $1 off coupon in the March 20 newspaper, and it will be 66 cents.

  • Aquafresh Extreme Clean is $1 in the travel section. Use this $1/1 Any Aquafresh Extreme Clean coupon and get it free.
  • Band-Aid Brand Hello Kitty 10 count or Adult Band-Aids 8 count are 97 cents in the travel section. Use the coupons from the March 27 or Feb. 12 newspaper and get them for 47 cents each.
  • Degree Men’s Deodorant is 97 cents in the travel section. Use the $1 off coupon from the March 27 newspaper and get it free.
  • I noticed fresh boneless, skinless chicken was $1.57 a pound when I was there Monday morning. There were several packages by a few brands that had stickers for $1 to $3 off that particular package because they were dated for sale by April 12. This is worth checking out. I went early, and I suspect this is a regular thing they do. I will start buying my fresh meats in the mornings more often and let you know.

has some good deals on Easter candy. Mars/Snickers candies are on sale for 25 cents each for the eggs, and packages are $2 and $2.50 each. You can print coupons for additional savings and use them along with the Walgreens store coupons that are inside the advertisement in the store. These coupons can be found in your March 20 and April 10 newspaper inserts. You also can find coupons for candy items at the Iheartcvs coupon page, and they come and go often on various company Facebook pages like Peeps.

has some free Easter items if you head over before the end of the day Tuesday. These items will be charged to you, and you will receive the same amount in Extra Care Bucks, which are dollar-off coupons for your next purchase of anything at the store. These items include Easter grass at 99 cents, Paas Easter egg decorating kits at $1.99 and Russell Stover chocolate bunnies at 74 cents.

Keep in mind that with any of the Internet printable coupons, you should print them as soon as you know that you would like to get them. They change and can disappear at any moment.

Special thanks to the iheart chain of savings sites, Southern Savers and Refund Cents. These often show deals I do not see, and they often know of coupons that I do not.
