Camp Twin Lakes Spin For Kids 2013

ATLANTA, Ga. – Camp Twin Lakes Spin For Kids, an annual charity bike ride taking place Oct. 19-20, 2013, helps send children with serious illness, disabilities, and other life challenges to camp.

 

This year, Spin for Kids will take place at Camp Twin Lakes-Rutledge. The event will include a mountain bike ride on Saturday, Oct. 19, and a road bike ride on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013. One hundred percent of every dollar supports Camp Twin Lakes’ medically-supportive and fully-accessible overnight camp programs, hospital-based Camp-To-Go programs, and day camps throughout the sIte.

Spin for Kids encourages family participation and offers a day camp option for children ages 5-12 to enjoy supervised camp activities while their parents ride or volunteer. On Sunday, participants and their families are invited to enjoy a Family Fun Day at CTL-Rutledge featuring lunch, camp activities, live music and fun for the entire family. Families are also encouraged to make Spin For Kids a full weekend getaway by staying at the campsite. Saturday afternoon will be full of camp activities, followed by dinner, music by the campfire and s’mores.

Registration is $45 for either the Road Bike Ride or the Mountain Bike Ride, and $80 for both the event date. To register, please visit www.spinforkids.org and look under tab labeled “Register Here.”

All routes are fully supported with premium rest stops, SAG wagons and motorcycle escorts.  Riders of all experience levels are invited to participate.

Camp Twin Lakes proudly subsidizes 80 percent of the direct camp costs ($800) for every camper served with Camp Partners covering remaining costs. Spin for Kids gives our Camp Partners a unique opportunity to raise funds to offset their camp fees to Camp Twin Lakes. For a list of our partners, please visit www.camptwinlakes.org. For the past 20 years, Camp Twin Lakes has provided life-changing camp experiences to thousands of Georgia's children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. Camp Twin Lakes provides week-long summer camps and year-round weekend retreats at three fully-accessible and medically-supportive campsites, day camps, and through hospital-based Camp-To-Go programs. Camp Twin Lakes collaborates with more than 60 different nonprofit organizations, each serving a different population, to create customized programs that teach campers to overcome obstacles and grow in their confidence and capabilities.
