Elementary School Pep Rally, Pre-Ballet Class in Cherokee County Today

There are plenty of things to see and do in and around Holly Springs today.

1. There will be a pep rally at Free Home Elementary School at 1 p.m.to kick off the Boosterthon fundraising and health awareness program. Unlike the old wrapping paper fundraisers, students in Boosterthon get pledges from friends and family depending on how many laps they complete in the Boosterthon Fun Run later on in the school year.

2. The Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency's Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. at the county administrative building in Canton. Following a one hour work session, their regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The Advisory Board is tasked with implementing and coordinating public recreation programs and activities for Cherokee County.

3. Dancentre South will be holding a free pre-ballet class at 10 a.m. at their Woodstock facility. Three and four-year-olds are welcome to attend the class with parental supervision to get a taste of the dance life. Parents can also sign up for classes for their child between 9 a.m. and noon.

4. Ever wanted to learn how to clog? PowerTaps Clogging will be holding an introductory clogging course at 6:30 p.m. in Woodstock. It only costs $5, and you don't even need clogging shoes (but hard soled shoes are a must!). To get more information, visit the PowerTaps website or call 770-710-1152.

5. Aspiring master coupon cutters may want to head over to Papa's Pantry at 6551 Commerce Pkwy. in Woodstock at 10 a.m. and learn the tricks of the trade from Susan Call, a self-proclaimed master couponer. Register by calling 770-591-4730.
