Woodstock Store Sells Winning Lottery Ticket
A Marietta resident purchased the ticket in September.
A Woodstock convenience store recently sold a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million.
AM/PM Woodstock at 12152 Highway 92 in Woodstock, sold the winning Powerball ticket to Chadwick Steelman of Marietta, according to a press release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
Steelman matched the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 26 Powerball drawing and claimed his prize on Oct. 3 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
The winning numbers from the Sept. 26 drawing were: 13-26-39-41-42 and the Powerball was 10. Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing is at an estimated $80 million to a single annuity winner, according to the Georgia Lottery.
Proceeds from Powerball and other Georgia lottery games go towards public education funding in the state of Georgia.
Since its inception, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
