Woodstock Man Arrested On Child Molestation Charges

Shogut Hussien is currently being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

UPDATE (5:04 p.m.): Pastor Craig Ormsby of First Baptist Church of Woodstock said Hussien had no role as a volunteer at the church.

A Woodstock man remains behind bars after he was arrested on charges he molested a 13-year-old child.

Shogut Hussien, 64, is being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on one count of child molestation and two counts of sexual battery.

He was arrested on Tuesday after a week-long investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. Public Information Officer Lt. Jay Baker said the incident was reported to the department by the child's family.

Baker said Hussien transported the child to activities at First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

"He has been involved with the family for approximately 4 months," he said, adding "indications are that this occurred on one occasion."

Baker said there are no reports of other victims at this time.

Hussien has not been arrested or charged with similar crimes, but a search of court records show he's been arrested for driving under the influence in 2008 and 2010.

I know of this man and the things he has done for these people. Funny how recently they were told there was nothing else that could be done with their home project he was working on and now this is coming out? I have also seen these girls in action and I have a hard time believing this is true.

Funny how this man has worked with Woodstock First Baptist for many years, and has volentered with the church years on end,and now that he needs his church family the most OH he is not with, and does not represent the church in any way. This man is very active in Woodstock First Baptist, just ask anyone that goes there. Not to many S. Hussien's in Woodstock. Come one Pastor Ormsby!!!!! Really???? You'll take is money every sunday, but the church won't get his back. Weather he is found inosent or guilty he is very much in need of his church of more than 20 years.

you never know someone the way you think you do. I have known this man many, many years and was not surprised, he has three girls of his own. How would he feel if a man of his age did these sex acts to his girls? Then again his ex-wife moved his girls to another state and out of contact. Good going Pamela. Pray for his children.
