I'd also like to say that when Mr. Gingrey started his address, I thought it was going to be a typical political speech suitable for an election year. However, his history lesson on the start of Memorial Day, his personalization of the sacrifices made by members of our armed forces by reading the names and hometowns of each person from Georgia's 11th district who were Killed in Action (KIA) during the hostilities in Iraq and Afghanistan, were clearly heartfelt. Furthermore, thank you Mr. Gingrey for writing and introducing a bill to the United States Congress to recognize the work of the Patriot Guard Riders and thank you for recognizing the difficult work carried out in bereavement support by families such as Joe and Jan ("The General") Johnson, parents of Justin, KIA April 10, 2004 Iraq and Joshua , U.S. Army Active Duty 2008-2009 through their affiliations with the Patriot Guard Riders and Gold Star organizations.
