Fortunately, the Florida government shut down the central planning of the restrictions at the State level and told the County's to decide on their own. Local voters through out two environmentalists and the new County commission settled on TWELVE lawsuits files regarding damage to property rights. Bill Clinton is the one who ordered Federal agencies to fund and implement Agenda 21 (George Bush only signed the Agenda 21 non-binding document) via his Presidential Commission on Sustainable Development, and the agencies paid off the American Planner's Association who wrote the legislative guide rolled out to most states and pushed through by planners and environmentalists.

First, I don't care what Dick Morris says because he's never been right. Are you alleging that Chip Rogers is in cahoots with a UN plan for some new One World Order intiative?

This is a conspiracy theory that the John Birch Society has been pushing for years. It's sad that there are some who actually believe these things.

Dick Morris's musings don't have any credibility and don't mean anything. If a video of Dick Morris is part of the presentation then I'm disappointed in Chip Rogers. I thought he was better than that.

Unfortunately, Georgia is at a tipping point with Agenda 21. Our state has been taking in grants and monies for a long time and has taken us further than most of us would like to know into the UN agenda. Chip Rogers is fighting against this agenda. To correct the records, the UN has been pushing this agenda, which the John Birch Society was smart enough to pick up on and fight against. A conspiracy theory cannot be backed up by facts, Agenda 21 has a track record and I would suggest instead of all of us throwing out one liners, we do our own research. There is plenty of it online, and on the UN website. Also, to the Georgia Moderate's comments, if you don't wise and educate yourself, you won't be able to choose a hobby much less afford one.

We can speculate on the intent of the agenda but there is no doubt that it is being pursued with vigor at all levels of Government. "The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

I am not particularly appreciative of the tone the WP is taking lately. I thought Patch was more of an activity and information site for community involvement and not political in nature. The title of this article seems deliberately canted to intimate that Sen Rogers is somehow 'surreptitiously' promoting Agenda 21 when nothing could be further from the truth. If this bent in commentary continues, I for one, will no longer follow the Patch updates.

If both conservatives and Democrats are sounding a warning bell about the UN Agenda 21, wouldn’t a reasonable and prudent person want to check it out and find out why? Florida passed a law on the State level to ban Agenda 21 in the State along with retiring the Department of Community Affairs (fact check the name of this department, I could have named it wrong) that had oversight.

In my 12 years on the Cherokee BOC, no one from the federal or state government, and certainly not from the UN, has ever tried to influence us toward so-called "smart growth" communities. It's the developers and land owners who love them because that's how they can make the most money. When we turn them down, they complain we're depriving them of their property rights. Now other property rights advocates are opposing this kind of development. It's an interesting world!

Guy, I don't ask that you agree with me on Agenda 21 and what the UN is doing, that is one of the great things about America is our being able to discuss and disagree. However, unless you have knowledge of the issue and can back up your opinion with facts, i don't put a lot of stock in someone's sarcastic remarks. Anyone can be sarcastic. Either someone wants to learn about the issue to stand for it or against it, or they just like to try to make the people they disagree with look like, a you say, "lunatics and crackpots". There is an old saying "I may be paranoid, but it doesn't mean I'm not being followed". I would much rather have a spirited debate now about the pro's and con's of Agenda 21, than be reflected some day in the near future about how this all happened. Education and involvement by all citizens really does help keep ambitious governments and organizations in check. Just my thoughts - could be wrong (but I doubt it). Doug

Late breaking news this afternoon revealed Chip Rogers' refusal to take off his tin foil hat in the Capitol led to his resignation. Sources also say despite his attempt to deflect attention away from his fascination with Agenda 21 by citing "more time with his family," those with any intelligence at all realized Chip's days were numbered as he became more goofy over time.

Noted neurologists have revealed it is possible to avoid the calamitous influence of Agenda 21 by employing aluminum foil.
