Victim Identified in I-575 Fatality

Jamie Lynn Sanborn of Ball Ground was hit and killed by a vehicle late Wednesday night.

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the woman who was fatally hit by a vehicle on Interstate 575 late Wednesday night.

Jamie Lynn Sanborn, 42, of Ball Ground, was struck and killed near mile marker nine between the new Ridgewalk Parkway interchange under construction and Towne Lake Parkway, said Georgia State Patrol Spokesman Gordy Wright.

Wright said state troopers responded to the crash around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

"A witness told the trooper that Sanborn and a passenger in a vehicle had an argument and the driver pulled over to the shoulder of the road," he said.

Wright said the witness told the trooper that Sanborn ran from the vehicle into the left travel lane on the southbound side of the interstate and was hit by a Nissan Altima driven by Kyla Nicole Reinagel, 22, of Acworth.

Wright said no charges have been filed in the incident.

A sad reminder to do what you must to keep the peace in a moving vehicle. When tempers flare, situations like this can easily occur. Imagine how badly the lady driving the Nissan must feel? She is blameless, but still has to live with the knowledge that she ended someone's life. Too sad all around.

That was my friend, Jamie, that passed away. What a horrible way to end a life. That poor girl
Driving, and her son's fiancé that witnessed this accident. I'm just so stunned, having trouble even trying to comprehend what has happened.

This is so sad. I just met this very nice lady at church about a week ago. I am heart broken for her family. My prayers go out to them. I wish that there was someway to stopped this.
