Two Children Sexually Assaulted
They are both under the age of five, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said today.
A 27-year-old Ball Ground man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the sexual assaults of two children under the age of five.
Daniel Baxter is in the Cherokee County Detention Center without bond, charged with one count of rape, two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of aggravated sodomy and two counts of sexual battery, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
"The incident was reported to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday," he said. "Although not related, the victims were acquainted with Baxter."
Baker said detectives are unaware of any other victims at this time.
"Anyone who has children that have been around Baxter can call investigators at 770-928-0239 to report any concerns they may have," he said.
