2 Home Depot Employees Charged with Making Terroristic Threats
A suspicious package was found on Dec. 24 in the flooring department of the Home Depot.
Samuel Cornett, 20, and James Roberts, 33, were arrested on Dec. 28 and charged with making terroristic threats and hoax devices stemming from an incident at the Sixes Road Home Depot on Christmas Eve, said Lt. Tanya Smith with the Holly Springs Police Department.
Both men worked at the store, Smith said.
Cornett and Roberts were taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, but later released on $11,880 bonds.
Around 11 a.m. on Dec. 24, Home Depot workers found a suspicious package in the flooring department of the store. The Cobb County Bomb Squad technicians were called in to remove the package.

Did you mention that the device was just trash. There was no bomb and no bomb threat. There was just someone who misunderstood what they saw.

Hoax device would indicate that there was no threat. How do you misunderstand a hidden device that looks suspecious? This is what happens when you play and don't work.

DC and AH, the initial report from the scene has video of a Holly Springs Police officer stating that the device was made to look like a bomb. Here is the link to that video: http://patch.com/A-pGmj

I understand that it was a potential threat and agree with the action taken. If you sugarcoat things, you open up room for other, more serious threats to happen.

These two clowns got exactly what they asked for ATTENTION, and now it is going to cost them big time....... LMAO. Remember the song "you're not a kid anymore" ? If anyone thinks acting like or being a fool is acceptable. Notice what the results of acting like and being fools has accomplished for these idiots .
Someone mentioned what nice guys these two morons where ........ SURE as long as they are being watched. BTW it is not how one acts when watched, it is how one acts when by themselves, no one watching.
Enjoy the jail time.... BOYS!!

Hey Dick, (appropriate name btw) I'm gonna make this short and sweet for all of you. How about you keep your assumptions to yourself. Because unless you know what happened or know the people involved you can't judge ANYONES character. Get a life and stop sitting on the internet speculating about other people. Bottom line, you weren't involved and you dont know what happened. Grow up and stop acting like a BOY!!

Misunderstanding? Creating a device to look like a bomb is not a misunderstanding ... its premeditated. A joke? How much money did this little "joke" cost Home Depot, the City (paid by OUR tax dollars) and how many consumers suffered not being able to buy that last minute gift over this "joke"? This is unacceptable behavior and should carry a punishment. As far as "knowing" someone to be able to judge their character its irrelevant. You may "know" someone your entire life and never know they steal, cheat, molest, rape, kill, etc.
Anyone with half a brain would know you don't mess with a multi-million dollar corporation and the government unless you are ready to pay the price. Pranks and jokes are for close friends and family not for your place of employment. If someone goes as far as making a hoax bomb they are certainly capable of making a real one. These are the types of signs people should pay attention to. Joke or not this is serious business. By the way what are these individuals teaching their kids? They deserve whatever they get for their premeditated actions.
