Tribune Editor Arrested, Fired
Brandon Wilson was charged with pandering, while two others with him were arrested on charges of pimping and prostitution.

Brandon Wilson, the managing editor of the Cherokee Tribune since May, was fired Thursday after being arrested in a prostitution case in Canton.
According to jail booking reports, two others were arrested with him, one on a charge of pimping and the other on a charge of prostitution.
Wilson, who lives in Cartersville, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. Thursday on a charge of pandering, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. He was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center at 1:35 a.m. and released at 7:15 a.m. after posting $680 bail.
Baker offered no other details, and the booking information did not specify the location in Canton where Wilson, Erik Leshaun Jackson and Sonya Lynn Strobel were arrested.
The Tribune, however, reported that Canton police collared the trio at the Days Inn on Juniper Street, across from the Canton Mill Loft Apartments.
Jackson, 29, of Long Beach, CA, was held on a charge of pimping. Strobel, 25, of Smyrna, was in custody on a charge of prostitution. Bail was set at $680 each.
The Tribune said it fired Wilson on Thursday afternoon and replaced him on an interim basis with Brian Clark, the managing editor of the weekly Neighbor Newspapers chain. The Marietta Daily Journal owns the Tribune and the Neighbor.
Wilson, 33, moved from the MDJ to become managing editor of the Tribune last year after the Cherokee County School District hired longtime editor Barbara Jacoby as its spokeswoman.
