Speak Out: More Efforts to Capture Kony?

Officials recently said capturing the alleged war lord is harder than they people think.

After gaining international attention through a 30-minute Youtube video, Joseph Kony, leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, is still loose in Africa.

Although Americans are pressuring lawmakers and officials to capture Kony, those only familiar with the video might be underestimating what it takes.

Obama administration officials told a Senate subcommittee that efforts to capture Kony are complicated by inhospitable terrain and communication breaks between coordinating countries, according to a CNN report.

Right now there are 100 special forces advisers are hunting for Kony, the report said.

Patch asks: Should the US put more effort into capturing Kony or continue to try to work with other countries?

I'm moving this blog post over from the Facebook page. Someone who lived for a while in Uganda posted it. "The focus in Northern Uganda should no longer be Joseph Kony the man that oppressed us for 23 years, but it should be on we that were oppressed. I believe that this Acholi problem needs a biblical and African solution of restoring the broken hearted. We urgently need to raise leaders that will give hope to the hopeless. Therefore the kony 2012 Video is not the solution, hope to the oppressed is the solution."
