Science Mysteries: My Mother’s Traveling Voice

Black Friday brought one phenomenon out for me.

I was shopping with my friend on Black Friday when he held up a pair of pants to his waist and said, “They’re too long.”

Then it happened. My mother’s voice mysteriously traveled across state lines and jumped out of my mouth.

“They wouldn’t be if you wore them where they belong,” I/she said.

It actually came out “belloooonnngggg” because I tried to stop the words before they came out. Surely I did not say that. Surely that was some Black Friday phenomenon. Like Freaky Friday but for shopping. Right?

Surely that’s what happened. No, I’m not turning into her.

Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina won this week and we’re gearing up to see Georgia in the SEC Championship in Atlanta on Saturday.

College coaches are dropping like flies. The Syracuse men’s basketball coach got fired over the weekend in the middle of a sex abuse scandal.

Seriously, stay off Craigslist (I’m not even linking so you won’t click on it). There are three more killings that may be tied to listings after that guy a few years ago who allegedly killed people and then himself. Then there was a Lifetime movie.

It’s Cyber Monday. That just sounds dirty every time I hear it. The best deals in my inbox are at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Amazon, Loft and Victoria’s Secret.

Tomorrow, expect the first "Let It Snow" headline. Can you believe they’re expecting snow?

Oh, one more thing. I made these dough gift tags for Christmas presents for this week's DIY: Don't Injure Yourself. When I left them in the floor to get my camera, Daisy ate them. I'll make some more, but I don't advise those if you have pets.

Now the dough gift tag tip is hilarious. Can you even imagine the havoc she could create if she didn't notice them until Christmas Eve...well after you have forgotten what is in half the boxes?
