Kroger Update, New Sale at Publix
Kroger gives Patch readers information on their coupon policy, and Publix starts the weekend off with some good deals.
I have been emailing back and forth with Kroger this week. In the past, we have been able to use an electronic coupon loaded onto our Kroger card as well as a paper coupon for the same item. This is no longer the case and I reported that the coupon policy had changed for Kroger. I have been corrected on this topic.
The policy itself always has been that customers can only use one coupon per item at Kroger. A glitch in the system has allowed shoppers to do it in the past and this glitch has now been fixed. I stand corrected that the policy itself on the use of the two coupons has not changed, just our ability to "get away with" using an electronic coupon and a paper coupon on one item.
Here is a direct quote from one of the emails I received.
"On behalf of Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations of Kroger’s Atlanta Division, we wanted to clarify some of the information provided in your story, “New Coupon Policy for Kroger, Deals at Walmart, Target” published on March 28. Rules about using more than one coupon on the same item are not new. The terms and conditions of most coupons, paper or digital, is one coupon per item. Unfortunately, through a software glitch in the past, the Point of Sale technology at the point of checkout was not identifying digital coupons, therefore in the past, Kroger customers may have combined digital and paper coupons on the same item. Coupon rules maintain that all coupons are limited to one per item. Neither digital nor paper coupons can be doubled or combined on the purchase of a single item."
So, the coupon policy has not changed. Our ability to use two coupons has changed due to the correction of a glitch in the system at Kroger.
Today marks the beginning of a new sale at Publix. If you aare looking for the best deals at Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens or any of the Sunday through Saturday stores in our area that have great deals this week, be sure to check out Monday's Patch article that lists them all out.
Here are the best bets that I have seen and heard about for Publix Thursday through next Wednesday.
Juicy Juice 100% Juice juice boxes are buy one, get one free at $3.25. Use this $1 off 2 coupon and get 2 packages for $2.25.
Fruit2day, sold in the 2 pack packaging is 2 for $2.99 instead of the regular price of 1 for $2.99. Use this printable coupon for $1 off one and get two for $1.
Mueller’s Pasta is buy one, get one free at $1.39. use the $1 off two coupon from the March 27 newspaper insert and get 2 for just 39¢.
Post Selects or Great Grains or Trail Mix Crunch Cereal is buy one, get one free at $3.99. There was a $1 off one coupon in the April 3 newspaper insert.
Kellogg’s Cereal Frosted Mini Wheats are buy one, get one free at $3.45. there were coupons for additional savings in the newspaper on March 6 and March 27. There is also a Target printable coupon you can use for additional savings.
Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice is three for $4. Use the 75 ¢ off one coupon from your Feb. 20 newspaper or the $1 off fresh beef when you buy rice coupon found in your Feb. 13 newspaper.
Boneless Pork Loin Country Ribs are $3.49 a pound. This is a good stock up price.
Banquet Breaded Chicken Patties, or Nuggets, or Chicken Breast Tenders or Strips, or Popcorn Chicken are buy one, get one free at $5.49. This purchase counts toward the $10 and $30 Conagra Products Rebate in the Publix Booklet called Slam Dunk Savings that can be found just inside the Publix store door.
Remember, at Publix, you do not need to purchase both items on the buy one, get one free sale items. Purchasing one is allowed, and you will be charged half the regular price. If you only have one coupon, this makes that one item a great deal.
If you are new to saving with coupons, here is the easiest way to stay organized with the least amount of time. Take your coupon inserts out of the newspaper each Sunday and mark the date you received them on the front cover. store them in a giant envelope or folder. Each week, I will reference which weeks circular you can find the coupon you need in.
If you want to print a coupon I mention, do it as soon as you can. These internet coupons are often pulled before we all get a chance to print them.
Special thanks to IheartPublix, RefundCents, Savingthefamilymoney and SouthernSavers for some of the deals and coupon organization this week. I try to use several websites along with my own research to get you as many great deals as possible each week, however I only list the ones who give me at least one new item when I get to their site after I have done my own research. If you have a local site you would like me to check out, please click on email the author.
