Student athletes from Sequoyah High School that signed letters of intent to play college sports were recognized during a ceremony at Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center on Wednesday.
In total, 48 Cherokee County School District (CCSD) student athletes were received at a brunch in honor of their commitments on National Signing Day, the earliest day high school seniors are allowed to make a commitment to play college football.
Although football is the big draw on National Signing Day, the CCSD student athletes will be playing other sports such as baseball, wrestling, and track and field, among others.
You may soon see some locals playing in huge games for Division I schools; several students signed letters with schools such as UGA and Georgia Tech.
