Bryson McVey, 66, of Canton, died this morning at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
McVey was a Vietnam veteran and a member of Salem Baptist Church. He owned and operated a wrecker service and was County Manager or Roads and Bridges.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Chapel of th South Canton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
McVey will be buried in the Georgia National Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger McVey, Canton; sons, Rodney McVey, Jasper, and Billy Turner, Canton; daughters, Mechelle (Phil) Hicks, Canton, and Frankie (Michael) Brooks, Blairsville; brother, Loran (Donna) McVey, Ellijay; sisters, Rebecca Jones and Alice (Newell) May, Ellijay; Linda Wikle, Jasper; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and beloved dog, Missy.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
