The Creekview High School’s Aeronautics Team recently accepted a donation of equipment valued at more than $2,500 from a local enthusiast. Bill Jefferson of Cumming, a former member of the Georgia Model Aviators, gifted the team with ready-to-fly radio-controlled aircraft, aircraft kits, engines, transmitters and building supplies. Team members include, from left to right, front row: Chase Tetpon, Joey Nelson, Wyatt Northcutt, Newton Strickland, Nathan Olivares, Amanda Semler, Luc Rowell, Rafael Escamilla, Christian Schaefer, Ben McNamara, Chris Hoover; second row: Josh Terry, Josh Whitley, Justin Smith, Chase Brooks, Jordan Chism, A.J. Sweet, Zack Chester; and back row: Trace Sosebee, Brady Neilson, Liam Vincent and Lindsay Stead. The team is led by teachers Todd Sharrock, left, and Tim Smyrl.

Creekview High School's Aeronautics Team is hosting Aeronautics Night at Las Palmas on Cumming Highway on Thursday evening.

Fifteen percent of your bill will be donated to the team, and Creekview students that attend the fundraiser can enter a drawing to win a free model rocket kit.

The event will last from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28.

If you have any more questions about the event, contact club leader Todd Sharrock at todd.sharrock@cherokee.k12.ga.us.
