Civic League Enlists Holly Springs Man

Jason Thomas Skipper brings the board his expertise in public affairs gained with Duffey Communications and Sen. Johnny Isakson.

Holly Springs resident Jason Thomas Skipper has joined the board of the Civic League for Regional Atlanta.

He is one of three new board members who will help the league facilitate the region's debate about transportation leading up to the 10-county TSPLOST referendum July 31, which has been heavily criticized in Cherokee County.

The Civic League also will help frame the debate on issues such as water and education that are vital to the region’s health, economic progress and sustainability.

Skipper is a senior account executive for Duffey Communications, managing public relations for large and small businesses, trade associations, and nonprofit groups and lobbying state and local governments for clients throughout the Southeast.

He previously worked as a regional representative for Republican U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, acting as a community relations liaison and adviser for 14 counties in the Atlanta region.

Skipper holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Valdosta State University. He volunteers with groups such as the Special Olympics and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

He is a former member of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Employer Task Force and the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Entrepreneur Friendly Community Review Board.

The Civic League for Regional Atlanta is an independent nonprofit organization that seeks to educate, engage and empower people to address regional issues and achieve solutions for a prosperous, sustainable region.
