Calvin Hill To Chair Code Revisions Committee
Cherokee State Rep. Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat) has released his committee assignments for the 2013 legislative session.
The Committee on Assignments announced House committee assignments for the Georgia General Assembly 2013-2014 term.
State Representative Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat) was tapped to chair of the newly re-organized Code Revision Committee.
"I’m honored that Speaker (David) Ralston and the Committee on Assignments has appointed me to chair the Code Revision Committee as I have always been more interested in reducing the number of laws on the books rather than try to create more, something that I believe most Georgians would agree with," Hill said. "This is an ideal position for me and I will be working closely with the Speaker and his staff to accomplish this goal of reducing the size of state government."
Additionally, Hill was appointed as secretary to the Budget & Fiscal Affairs, Special Rules and State Planning & Community committees.
He will also continue to serve on Appropriations, State Institutions and Properties and Banks & Banking as an active member.
"In order to best perform my duties of Chairing one committee, Secretary for
three committees and sitting on another three, I have moved my offices to Suite 401 in the Capitol," Hill stated. "My executive assistant, Jan Brown, will be moving with me as she has worked with me for most of my tenure in the House. I appreciate her professionalism and dedication to helping me serve the requirements of my position as well as having an intimate knowledge of my constituency."
