Avery fifth-grader Joselin Ortuno recently won third place in the Geography category at the Regional Social Studies Fair held at Kennesaw State University.  Her project was entitled "The Climate Where I Live" in which she studied the climate around Alpharetta.
Avery Elementary School recently announced its 2012 Young Authors' Fair Winners who will represent Avery ES at the Cherokee County School District Young Authors’ Fair on March 2. Avery Elementary School recently announced its 2012 Young Authors' Fair Winners who will represent the school at the county-wide author's fair.

Congratulations to Moxon Glosson, Mackenzie Czerner, Autumn Dustin, Trinity Starzyk, Drew Vajda and Brooke Wildes.

Holly Springs Elementary School fourth-grader Izabella Mingolla raised $1,000 in this year's Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser that benefits the American Heart Association.  As a third-grader, she raised $660; as a second-grader, she raised $875.  

The School-Based Enterprise school store at Creekview High School was among the five school stores in the United States achieving Bronze Certification this year from the DECA organization.
