Five Cherokee teen fire explorers were promoted at Fire Station 22 near BridgeMill.
Josh Germon was promoted to Captain. Cheyenne Gurley and Austen Fowler were promoted to Lieutenant, and Matt Armstrong and Lane Emert were promoted to Sergeant.
The Explorer program gives teens an opportunity to explore a particular career field and get a hands-on introduction to fire and emergency services.
