Four Cherokee County firefighters were promoted today.
- Captain: This is the third promotion for Ron Williams, a 12-year veteran of Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services. In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. In 2007, he rose to the level of lieutenant.
- Lieutenant: Ric Mitchell, who was last promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2007, has been with the department since 2003.
- Sergeant: Jeremy Pannell joined the department in 2007. Stephen Whitfield started in 2006.
