Sequoyah High School Welcomes Lads of Lanier for Chorus Program

Sequoyah High School Principal Elliot Berman and Chorus Director Josh Markham recently invited the Lads Of Lanier to demonstrate the barbershop style of music to Sequoyah HS chorus classes. Lads Of Lanier is a quartet from the Lake Lanier Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an international society of men who love to sing and are dedicated to the preservation of this truly American song style. While a few songs were shared with each of Markham’s classes, the Sequoyah HS men's chorus also learned the basics of the barbershop style of music and participated in a "tag," through which a choice portion of a song was taught and then sung jointly by the students and the Lads.
